We had been riding the subway and Colleen took this picture on the way up out of the subway. This was a very long escalator which shows how far below the surface we were. Colleen really doesn't like the subways as she's always worried about what would happen if we had an earthquake when we were that far underground. Anyway, the fact that I'm writing this message indicated that we survived the trip.






On May 21st we met up with our friend Naoko and she brought along her friend Hiromi. They love trying to speak English and so we were engaged in conversation all day long. We went south of Tokyo to the ocean to a place called Odaiba. It is a very new and clean part of Tokyo. We are seen here taking a boat ride to get to the area we would visit.
